Hi Everyone!

Just wondering if you could help?, today I assisted in minor surgery, the surgeon, used kilner needles for suturing, the sutures were size 6 so very fine and even when fully locked the suture kept slipping out the teeth of the kilner needle holder, does anyone know of a better alternative than the kilners to hold the suture in place .

Thank you

Hi Noosa1,

The head of the Kilner needle holder has an interlocking grid pattern of teeth which should hold fine sutures. My wife uses Kilners with 5-0 sutures without any problems. Is it possible that the teeth pattern has become worn down and the needle holder needs replacing? Geek

Kind regards,

Nigel
