My understanding of this is that they are still issues of being treated differently.

Our female colleagues who s have special class status can retire at 55 with full access to all their qualifying years

ie If they have worked 35 qualifying years. Their pension will be based on 35 years.

A similar male nurse will be entitled to the qualifying years after 1990 and then any years before that will be fully accessed at 60 . If he takes them at 55 their will be a reduction for taking them early.

Does anyone have a differnt take on this
